In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Brnvin (Absolute Pure Vodka). Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. 100 years later, it was reintroduced as ABSOLUT. Just as then, ABSOLUT is produced in Ahus, L.O. Smiths birth town, also the place where the wheat used for making the vodka is grown. And since the way ABSOLUT is made wont change, neither will the true taste of vodka.
ABSOLUT VODKA is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike other vodkas, it doesnt contain any added sugar. In fact, ABSOLUT is as pure as vodka can be. Still, that purity has a certain taste: rich, full-bodied and complex, yet smooth and mellow with a distinct character of grain, followed by a hint of dried fruit.
Its main ingredients are water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in hus where its protected from impurities. Winter wheat differs from other crops: its sown in fall and harvested the next one. Days in between it grows under the Swedish snow developing its hard grain. Also, the use of fertilizers is minimized.
ABSOLUT VODKA was first launched in New York in 1979. It soon became talk of the town, the US and eventually of the world. But the recipe behind the pure and natural taste of ABSOLUT is actually older than 30 years. So is the 18th century medicine flask found in an antique store in Stockholm that gave inspiration to the iconic ABSOLUT VODKA bottle.

Remy Martin only uses grapes from the most respected growing regions - the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. These regions contain a unique type of chalk-flecked soil that reflects light and ripens the grapes to absolute perfection. The eaux-de-vie that come exclusively from these crus in the heart of the Cognac region offer a palette of unique flavors and tastes. It is these very subtleties in taste that are not only recognized by the growers but protected by French law. Launch of Remy Martin Fine Champagne CognacVSOP in 1927 was an immediate success based on one differentiating point and superior quality.
In 1965, André Heriard Dubreuil was named president of Rémy Martin. He created the first contracts with winegrowers and distillers of the Grande and Petite.
In 1972, the now famous and iconic VSOP black frosted bottle was launched to worldwide acclaim, contributing to the success of Rémy Martin VSOP.
Due to unprecedented demand, XO Excellence, the epitone of luxury and sophistication, was created in 1981.
In 2005, Remy Martin reinforced its partnership with winegrowers. Today, 2/3 of the vineyards in Fine Champagne area are part of the Alliance Fine Champagne.
The launch of “Centaure de Diamant” in 2010 was the jewel in the heart of Cognac.
Time and talent are needed to reveal the true heart of cognac. Fine Champagne Cognac is cognac from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, made with 50% Grande Champagne. The eaux-de-vie from these regions have the greatest aging potential and are therefore treasured more.
