背景知识
乔治·戈登·拜伦(George Gordon Byron)，19世纪英国伟大的浪漫主义诗人。他因对英国反动统治阶级的抨击而被迫长期离开祖国。他同情和支持欧洲各国的资产阶级民主革命和民族解放斗争，曾亲身参加意大利烧炭党人的革命活动，参加希腊人民反抗土耳其奴役的武装斗争，最后并以身殉。他的诗歌里塑造了一批“拜伦式英雄”，他们孤傲、狂热、浪漫，却充满了反抗精神，他们内心充满了孤独与苦闷，却又蔑视群小。恰尔德·哈罗德是拜伦诗歌中第一个“拜伦式英雄”。拜伦诗中最具有代表性、战斗性，也是最辉煌的作品是他的长诗《唐璜》。
