The day for me to face the challenge eventually came．My dad and I took the Campus bus to my new school．When I stood in front of the big building，I can hardly believe it．I"ve never imagined that I could enter a school in America one day when I grown up even in dreams．When I entered the building，I was stunned．Students here wore cool and creatively．Some of them were even wearing T-shirts on such a cold day！They have diverse hail’styles：curly，straight，long，short，and bald in diverse colors．They don’t have any specitic rules on wearing and looks which makes up a fun part of the school．I went upstairs and got to my locker．The locker’was designed like a coffer．I need to rotate the circle number button for my password number before I could open it．Afte r’getting my books out，I was guided by the receptionist that I met yesterday．She took me to my first period classroom-Fundamental sci-ence．
When I got to the classroom，studetats had begun their classes．The science teacher was a brown-skilreed lady．She took mv hands when I stood in the front of the classroom introducing me as a new foreign stu-dent．She asked students to give welcome to me．The students applaud-ed and said“hi，Vivian”together．They were nice people．Finally，the teacher pointed an empty seat to me，and I got to my seat．The classroom was kind of big for such a nuumber of students-nearly 30 stu-denis．It consisled ot teaching area and experiment lab area．I thought the knowledge and the points in the text were fairly easy mainly dis-cussing phase change and some other basic physics theories which I have learned one year ago．The hardest thing for me was to understand the chemistry part of the class，which I haven’t learned yet．The science class here involved physics and chemistry both．I think language was not so big a problem for me because I could understand the majority ofthe lessons taught in class．According to the schedule，I guess I could call her“Mrs．Secrist”．She is a nice woman．Soon．the first periodwas over．Mrs．Secrist asked a student named Kelly to help me to findmy next period classroom．She was a white and asked me to show hermy schedule．Quickly，she found the classroom，and I thanked her．
It was ELL．Everyone has gone to the library．I was taken there soon as well．There I met the assistant of the ELL teacher “Ms Lyons”，a young and beautiful lady．She guided me to the computers telling me a lot about how to use a computer here such as how to save afile in my own folder in such an English windows system in patience．I also met my next period teacher“Mrs．Bunnell”．After the second period over，an Asian looked boy came to me saying that he was asked to help me by the teachers．He was a Chinese who came from shanghai．He has been here for almost a trimester．He told me that all the sub-jects here were easy consoling me not to worry about the study here．We got to the ELS ELD classroom soon，and he was in this class too．ELL and ESL are both English courses open for foreign student．ESL，how-ever，is much harder than ELL．There are many foreign students：blacks，whites and Asians．I had a good time in this class．
The last period was algebra I．The boy who came from shanghai told me that the course was too easy recommending a more challenging one for me．I refused at last．The teacher was glad to see me again as-signing me with a seat in the classroom．There was a quiz．I got all my problems solved correctly and quickly．As I saw the American students beside me still frowned and confused，I giggled a little．As time went on，it was my lunchtime．Lunchtime was divided into A，B and C in or-der to offer enough room for students to eat．I was divided in to C time，the latest one with the most students．I was taken there by the shanghai boy，eventually getting my lunch after a long time’s queuing．I ate a kind of mixture with beef and potato chips together．I also had salad and a bottle of milk．The milk was really cool causing me a little stom-achache．There，I also met a senior girl who came from Taiwan．She took the same American study class as I．After lunch．she took me tomy next period，which was study hall where I can do my homework and some readings．I took out my history book．There were so many new vo-cabularies for me，and I could hardly understand them．After 53 min-utes’class，I finally finished some readings．When I got out of the classroom，the Taiwanese girl had been waiting for me．She then took me to the American study classroom．
She told me that this subject was kind of hard．The teacher was al-so considerably strict．When I got to the classroom，the teacher was sit-ting at the door．He managed me to sit next to the Taiwanese girl．Dur-ing the class，I was almost confused by all the words the teacher said．The ****** and strong voice showed his strictness．However he truly go to good sense of humor．Laughers in class echoed through the hallway．Although I couldn’t fully understand him，his funny gestures and cre-ative words made me laugh too．
The last lesson for me was geometry．It was taught by the same teacher in the same classroom as algebra I．There was also a quiz which seemed harder compared to the algebra quiz I had this morning．I fin-ished school at 3：1 3．It was an interesting day，wasn"t it ？I thought with sweet smile with relaxation back at home that day．
