Melbourne Royal Exhibition Building
Melbourne Royal Exhibition Building was built in 1880. It is antique and beautiful. It’s the style of a blend of Byzantine architecture building， Roman architecture， and Italian Renaissance architectural. In that year， it has hosted 1.3 million visitors within a period of eight months. During the celebration of immigrants in Australia for 100 years in 1888， it received more than 220 million visitors. A century ago， this was a great event. In June 2004， Melbourne Royal Exhibition Building was included in the United Nations World Heritage List. It is Australia’s first building to be included on the List.
Captain Cook’s Cottage
Captain Cook’s cottage is located in the garden of the Melbourne， with a strong romantic English countryside.
In 1934， when the 100 anniversary of the city Melbourne， the well-known Australian businessman Sir Russell invested￡800 to buy Captain Cook’s house from the UK， as a gift to the people of Melbourne. This former residence was seperated later， packed in 253 boxes， total weight of 150 tons， shipped to Melbourne. Then it was reformed as before. It is the most visited historic place in Melbourne and one of the most well-known tourist attraction in Australia.
Old Melbourne Gaol
Old Melbourne Gaol in Russell Street and Victoria Street near the corner is already a pan-blue-black stone building， now only part of which remains. The prison can also become a tourist attraction， which is rare in other international cities. Since the former well-known Greenwood Thief Kaili had been imprisoned and executed here， it got the name.
Kaili and his gang had successfully robbed large sums of money of bank， broke into the police station and tied the police up， and succeeded to aid to the poor. The story of the legendary Greenwood Thief has been adapted many times into the novel， drama， literature and film， including the Hollywood movie Extrajudicial Fanatics in 2003.
When you visit the old prison， you can see the gallows， torture， and the armor helmets and masks of Kaili. The old Melbourne gaol not only reproduces the original environment， but also exercises the courage of visitors.
Queen Victoria Market
Tourists in Melbourne are sure to stroll around Queen Victoria Market. Queen Victoria Market is the largest city of Melbourne， also the oldest flea market.
