It was the No.2 Building in Linyuan Garden， built for Madam Song Meiling，wife of Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang ChingKuo， son of Chiang Kai-shek， used to live here in the 1940s. It also served as the state guest house where Mao Zedong and Wang Ruofei stayed during their famous Chongqing Negotiation with Kuomintang.
